The following are the five startups selected on 20th May, 09:00 - 13:00 at the MITA Innovation Hub in SmartCity.

(*) Given the number of good business ideas submitted, a sixth startup was selected to join the YouStartIT#2 cohort. The next in line in the selection process was FastTrack.​

The event featured a Lego Serious Play workshop titled ""Fail fast, fail soon… oops, you just failed. What next?" A fun workshop facilitated ​by Fdxlab.

Guest speakers included Sofia del Sante from Startup Chile.

About the call (closed)

We are offering a pre-seed investment and pro bono services of €22,000 to up to FIVE startups with the best business idea based on digital technologies.

We will privilege ideas that leverage areas of strength of the Maltese economy such as Financial Services, Health & Leisure, Tourism, Maritime and Gaming as a testbed or launchpad to global markets, and preferably use emerging technologies or disruptive models such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and BlockChain.

Startups selected for acceleration are expected to sign a Letter of Award appending terms and conditions and startup responsibilities. Click on the link below to view or download the letter of Award.



You are encouraged to read the Design Thinking inspired online material to get guidance on how to validate the business idea you wish to pitch. Links to the online material are embedded within the application form by clicking the GREEN F6S button above.​ You can start the application, print it and return to it anytime you want until the date of closure.
We have also created a Facebook Secret Group to facilitate communication and provide you with any answers to any questions you may have. If you are not already a member of the Secret Group please send us your Facebook profile so we may send you an invitation to join.
If you wish to talk to us about your idea, fill out the one-page Outline Idea Template​ and send it to us. We will schedule a meeting to give you preliminary feedback in confidence.

​If you are an EU national and a non-resident you are eligible to apply as long as you register your startup as a business undertaking in Malta. If you are a third country national (i.e. non-EU, e.g. US, Russia, Ukraine, etc.) you are technically also eligible, but you should first check residency permit requirements as these could hinder your ability to comply with the programme timeline.
