the business idea

The open call - StartApp €15K - was issued in December 2014 for startups. From the 15 startups that submitted a proposal LLUMI was the team that came first in the Development and Planning Theme. Further details on the call can be obtained here​​​. 
 
the project
MEPAPP is an easy-to-use map based application that will: increase the accessibility of planning application, scheduling and enforcement data; improve the accuracy of location based reports; and encourage public participation in planning, by allowing users to directly report alleged illegalities, and make representations on planning applications. The app was eventually launched in July 2016 and branded Planning Authority app and is currently available for download from both App Store and Google Play.




the startup
LLUMI is a Maltese start-up focusing on application development on various platforms. The company formed in early 2015 in response to the call issued by MITA. The team consists of four members with multidisciplinary skills committed to developing innovative and intuitive applications.



the team
Steve is a BSc. Business and Computing graduate who is currently working as a web applications developer. Steve has had a passion for mobile application development since his early university years, although most of his development skills are self-taught. Steve will be leading the development process of the project.

Zack is a BSc. Informations Systems with Computer System Engineering graduate who is currently working as an IT Consultant and is currently reading an Information Security degree at the University of London.

Suzanne is an MSc. Environmental Sciences graduate who has been working as a researcher in the planning field. In her studies and work Suzanne gained experience with (web)GIS applications, as well as ways to promote public participation in planning.

Keith is a B.A.(Hons) in Graphic Design & Interactive Media graduate who is currently working as graphic & web designer. Keith has been designing web applications for the past 4 years gaining in depth knowledge of user interface & user experience. ​
